02/07/14 - Embargoed until Wednesday 2nd June at 4pm GMT - Last week PC Gamer, the global authority on PC gaming, announced it has teamed up with BundleStars.com, a leading global retailer of value Steam key bundles, for an unprecedented giveaway of 5 million Steam keys.
This week, the second title in the five game giveaway has been revealed – Dino D-Day, the multiplayer FPS set in a WWII where dinosaurs resurrected by Hitler battle the Allies, is available for absolutely free starting from today.
As of last week and running for the next three weeks, anyone visiting PCGamer.com with an eligible Steam account can get a free Steam game. Three more games will be given away after Dino D-Day, with each available for a week before being replaced, and a million codes up for grabs every time.
PC Gamer’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/PCGamermagazine and Twitter feed @PCGamer will announce each new game on a weekly basis. The first game in the giveaway was SpaceChem. By week five, readers will have had the opportunity to create their own bundle of games.
“In choosing the games from this free Steam key giveaway, we went for variety. Also, dinosaurs,” says PC Gamer editor Samuel Roberts. “Following Dino D-Day, we’ve got three more games that I think will make a valuable addition to our readers’ Steam library. We had an enormously positive response on week one, and I expect this will continue throughout the giveaway.”
Bundle Stars was founded in November 2012 by UK publisher Focus Multimedia, and since then has led the way in bundling together collections of Steam keys with massive savings on regular prices.
Grant Hughes, Bundle Stars Business Manager, says: “We are delighted to team up with developer 800 North and offer PC Gamer’s readers a second awesome Steam game for free. Dino D-Day has been very popular with Windows gamers on www.bundlestars.com, and 800 North is currently working on a Jurassic-sized update, due soon, which will add many new features including Mac and Linux compatibility.”
Each key will be obtained by liking the Facebook pages for either PC Gamer or Bundle Stars, or alternatively following Bundle Stars or PC Gamer on Twitter. Full details for how users can obtain each individual key will be made clear when each weekly giveaway goes live on PCGamer.com.
PC Gamer is the leading authority on PC gaming culture, with over 5.5 million unique visitors per month on PCGamer.com and a long-running, celebrated magazine available both digitally and in print.
