FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*
Spain – August 14th, 2013 - Independent game company The Game Kitchen is proud to announce their episode point-and-click adventure game, The Last Door for PC, Linux & Mac and other flash-enabled devices is now available on 10 different languages. The game was successfully funded on Kickstarter in late 2012, and has now released two full chapters to the public reaching over 500,000 gameplays, with a third chapter on the way.
A very dedicated community behind The Last Door have worked hard to bring the first chapter of the game to 10 different languages including Croatian, Italian, Turkish, Portuguese, Esperanto, Catalonian, Polski, Estonian and Norwegian; with Russian and German coming soon. Over 50 people from the community are working together with the common goal of making The Last Door available to people from all over the world. “It’s incredible to see the community working together to allow the game to have global appeal,” states lead developer Mauricio Garcia. “We have an absolutely fantastic group of players who take time out of their day to translate the text to other languages. This is 100% community focused, all of the localizations have been made and reviewed by the community, and we’re incredibly humbled by their efforts.” The community is now focused on working on the second chapter of the game, which is currently available in English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and Italian.
In addition to the localization, players can also get involved in the Hall Of Fame within The Last Door. Members who donate 25€ or contribute significantly to the development are offered a pixelized version of themselves and a line of text to say when clicked on. Players and the public can search for themselves, others in the community and even the developers by investigating areas of the mansion. There are currently over 40 players displayed in the Hall of Fame, with new members being added on a regular basis.
A third chapter is currently in development and will be released in late September. The developers are currently offering a summer promotion where sharing The Last Door with a friend will give you an additional chapter for free. A new trailer has been released showcasing various scenes from the first two chapters. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJqFBUZ4gEk
