The successful candidates will be selected by a panel of PlayStation® game producers and developers, and have their tuition fees for Gamer Camp: Pro– which awards graduates with an MSc or MA in Video Games Development, paid in full.

The panel will award the two PlayStation Scholarships to those students who can show excellence and potential in either programming or art for games.

" We are delighted to be awarding two PlayStation® Scholarships to the best talent in the country to join the Gamer Camp: Pro course! By supporting individuals with creative talent, drive and strong work ethics we believe we create the right access to game development skills and team experiences they’ll need to step confidently into a competitive industry," says Maria Stukoff, Academic Partnership Manager at SCEE.

Gamer Camp: Pro runs for 12 months from September 2011, costs EU-based applicants£8,000 (£10,050 for non-EU applicants), and culminates in students working in project teams to build a game for the PlayStation®3 (PS3™). Students who apply for the Pro course via before 4 th July 2011 are automatically considered for the PlayStation® Scholarship.

"It is great to see support for future talent development in such a direct way. The PlayStation® Scholarships are going to have a potentially life changing effect on the two students who get the award" says Gamer Camp Operations Director Oliver Williams, who helped create the Gamer Camp programme.

Focusing on highly practical training, there are no essays or exams on Gamer Camp: Pro. Instead, students are assessed on their contribution, within a project team, in producing a number of games, culminating in six months to build a PlayStation®3 game.

The finished game is to be published via PlayStation®Network (pending approval) for a unique game experience.
