Pocket Gamer to launch in Germany

London, UK, Berlin and Cologne, Germany – 16 th August 2011 – Steel Media is proud to announce that the latest international expansion of its Pocket Gamer network sees the PG brand establishing itself in Germany through a licensing deal with MediaXP, the leading entertainment publishing house of the German-speaking market.

Since launching in March 2006 as the UK’s then only professional portal dedicated to covering the mobile gaming sector, Pocket Gamer has quickly grown to become a global reference for portable gaming coverage. The PG team’s focus on editorial excellence resulting in the production of internationally respected content has earned it an ever-expanding monthly readership that currently encompasses over 750k readers, generating over 2.5 million page views from the UK site alone, as well as the dedicated b2b sister site PockerGamer.biz.

Pocket Gamer Germany launches with a similar emphasis on delivering the calibre of expert news, features, reviews and opinion for which PocketGamer.co.uk is renowned, while providing content that reflects the unique tastes and rich culture of the German audience and market place – one of the largest games-playing communities in Europe.

The site follows Pocket Gamer France, which launched in October 2008 and subsequently merged with fellow market leader JmobiL in August 2010, in providing a bespoke, fully localised portal that caters for all of the portable gaming needs of its readers.
