San Francisco - February 2, 2012
The end times are near, save yourselves! And maybe some Pygmies! No wait, just keep sacrificing them. Bolt Creative today announced that it has officially launched the 43rd episode for its award-winning deity simulator Pocket God, entitled “Killing Time.” This is the first of multiple apocalypse-themed updates slated to release this year, with the last one being launched right before the impending apocalypse itself. Also, a Super Bowl skin pack has been added, just in time for the big game, giving players the chance to get into the spirit of America’s pseudo Sunday holiday with a variety of football inspired items.
With the launch of Episode 43: Killing Time comes the introduction of Apocalypse Island, a brand new area within the Pocket God world which is home to a massive Aztec calendar counting down to 11:11 am PST on December 21st, as well as a new temple with multiple rooms. Each room contains a special apocalyptic god power and with every update a door to one of these rooms will unlock. Episode 43 will unlock the Time Chamber and the power to control time.
With time at their disposal, deities will be able to pluck Pygmies from alternate timelines and give them the gift of the present. Well, a present of death in the present that is, but we all knew that was coming anyway. Up to four different timelines of Pygmies will be available to torture—an old fart Pygmy from the future who falls and complains about everything, a baby Pygmy from the past that, well, acts like a baby, a supercharged fast Pygmy from an alternate universe that can zip around the island, and a red-headed Pygmy from an alternate timeline in which the developers almost changed the look of their beloved Pygmies due to complaints (true story).
Keeping up with the times, literally, Pocket God has also introduced a new Super Bowl skin pack. This assortment of football-themed goodies will turn any drab island into a pigskin Pygmy play land, right in time for the biggest game of the year. The Super Bowl skin pack is available as an in-app purchase for $0.99.
The newly updated Pocket God can be downloaded today for $0.99 in the iTunes App Store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pocket-god/id301387274?mt=8.
