With the release this week of Poker Squares, fans can enjoy a fun, addictive game of poker strategy anywhere that they take their Kindle. Using Amazon's little-known "Active Content" system, the game is playable on all Kindle e-ink devices.
Developed by UK games specialist Two Way Media, Poker Squares is a card patience game with the challenge to make the highest score by placing 25 cards onto a 5x5 grid. Poker hands are scored vertically, horizontally and across the two diagonals, and getting the best score in all those ways is what makes it a challenge.
A great companion for home and travel, Poker Squares has been specifically designed for all e-Ink Kindles. It is used both as a practise tool for poker players as well as a great solitaire puzzler. With a special double scoring card and in-built leaderboard, players try over and over again to beat their own previous best score, with different strategies delivering surprising results.
"We aim to bring our puzzle games to every possible device, and in Poker Square's case, the Kindle is absolutely ideal. All the game requires is the 5-way controller, and it looks great on a black and white screen," commented James Turner, Two Way Media's Chief Executive. "In its former guise the game has generated a dedicated audience on TV, and we are proud to bring it to a new audience on the Kindle. Watch this space for the Kindle Fire version!"
The game is available to download now on Amazon's Kindle Store for $1.99.
