IGN’s Next Game Boss pits indie game developers against each other to pitch their games to a panel of industry experts. After successive rounds of competition and elimination, the final team will win the title Next Game Boss and $10,000 in prizes to help them finish their game.
Beardo Games is a collaboration between Munktiki ceramics artist Miles Nielsen, and Secret Arts Media developer Chris Harback. The team lives and works in Portland, Oregon’s east side. They have been friends for a decade, and collaborating on game ideas for a little over a year. The pair has a mutual appreciation of off beat and unusual games-- with a passion for atypical games like Katamari Damacy, Killer 7, and Jet Set Radio in common.
Cheap Shot is the Beardo game featured on Next Game Boss. It is a work in progress that is based on an exaggerated response to everyday human frustrations, in a gritty urban setting, and with a unique 2D art style and perspective.
Season 2 of Next Game Boss premiered on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. The Beardo Games debut episode will be released on Youtube on Tuesday, February 12, 2013.
The Beardo Games Next Game Boss Official Drinking Game rules list will also be available February 12 ( preview: every time Miles says the word “zombie” you take a drink). To makes sure you can play along at home, like Beardo’s Facebook page ( http://www.facebook.com/BeardoGames).
