PRESS CALL: Fiona Hyslop opens Dare ProtoPlay games festival

Cabinet Secretary for Culture and External Affairs Fiona Hyslop will open Scotland’s biggest computer games festival this Thursday with games industry legend Ian Livingstone.

All members of the press are invited to attend.

There will be photo and interview opportunities with Ms Hyslop and Mr Livingstone, creator of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.

Dare ProtoPlay marks the end of Dare to be Digital, the international game design contest for students run in Dundee each summer by Abertay University.

Dare to be Digital gives exceptionally talented students a life-changing opportunity to be mentored by games industry experts – and to be nominated for the exclusive BAFTA Ones to Watch Award.

The Dare ProtoPlay computer games festival is free and open to the public from Thursday August 8th to Sunday August 11th in Dundee’s Caird Hall and City Square.
