Project Reality

Official Press Release

Project Reality is a team of highly skilled and dedicated developers, designers and modders responsible for the Project Reality , an award winning* game modification pack for the popular first-person-shooter title, Battlefield 2, alongside a huge community of gaming enthusiasts and players.

(*'s annual Mod of the Year competition Winner 2008, second place in 2006 and 2007)

"As close to war as you are going to get when it comes to the Battlefield franchise" (

"Get ready for one of the meanest, most ruthlessly-demanding shooter experiences around." (

Project Reality aims to provide the most realistic battle experience available this side of actual combat and the mod developers work tirelessly to ensure every detail of the game is as accurate as possible. Several members of the team have backgrounds in the armed services, providing researched materials, including statistical information, to the developers. Project Reality was featured in the April 2008 edition of Soldier Magazine and is headed up by WO2 Craig Turner of the Light Dragoons.

Clearly an issue close to the heart for these guys, is the actual reality of warfare, and the men and women who are sent away from their families to fight. This is what PR CON is all about. A fundraising event for the charity “Help for Heroes”, which will be held in the form of a multiplayer LAN gaming event over two days at Rivermead Leisure Complex, Reading, 17th and 18th September 2011.

PR CON is set to be a fantastic event for gamers from all across the UK, featuring organised tournaments in a variety of gaming titles, not least of course their own flavor of Battlefield 2. There are also plans for guest speakers including armed forces personnel and a chill out area for socialising, gaming discussion, and kicking back after a hard day’s gaming. The event will raise funds by way of charging for entry, at £45 per person (this covers entry for both Saturday and Sunday), so the more heads counted, the more money will be raised for “Help for Heroes”.

About Help for Heroes:

Help for Heroes was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry in October 2007 out of a desire to help the wounded Servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. The message of the charity is simple: We are strictly non political and non critical; we simply want to help. We believe that anyone who volunteers to serve in time of war, knowing that they may risk all, is a hero. These are ordinary people doing extraordinary things and some of them are living with the consequences of their service for life. We may not be able to prevent our soldiers from being wounded, but together we can help them get better.”

Please help us raise money and awareness for this fantastic cause by getting the word out about PR CON 2011. All profits raised will go directly to Help for Heroes.

Event sponsorship opportunities are available, and interested parties should contact for more information.
