Qasir Al-Wasat - Trailer and Press Release

My name is Bruno Bulhões and I'm the creative director at Aduge Studio, a Brazillian indie studio. I'm contacting you to announce our upcoming game, Qasir Al-Wasat, with an official announcement trailer. With that out of the way, here's some information about the game:

The game is a stealth action-adventure that takes place on an ominous night inside a wondrous palace on 12th century Syria. It features an invisible character, that needs to assassinate 3 targets before dawn while trying to avoid detection whenever possible. The character is fragile, and a single strike of a sword is enough to take it down. Our protagonist is invisible to the human eye and, although it may seem a too powerful ability, it still can be heard and covered in particles which can be seen by guards (such as the blood of it’s victims). The game deals with an important aspect of this character’s personality, that of a risk-taker, which pursuits the best given reward out of any situation even if with it comes greater risks and consequences for failure.

The main aesthetic of the game is the concept of gambit, the idea of managing risks and rewards, a remarkable characteristic of our protagonist. The idea is that almost any situation or challenge presented for the player has both a lower risk, but unrewarding, and a highly risky, but very rewarding, solutions. It’s up for the player to manage his skills and accept the gambits presented to him.

There are also some secondary aspects of the game, such as the nature of our protagonist, its penchant for criticizing and admiring humanity through a distant and cold gaze and the concept of aloneness that accompany this character. In Qasir, we test an approach for representing his perception of our world through the graphics and sounds. Everything that he considers weaker than him are represented in a less realistic way.

The game is scheduled for release this Winter for PC and Mac.
