If you were wondering what the best reviewed iPhone games and apps on the web last month were, here's the iPhone Quality Index ( Qi) round-up for July to fill you in.
The iPhone Quality Index boasts over 250,000 scores from the world's best websites, such as 148Apps, Pocket Gamer, and What's On iPhone, and uses a unique metric to create a single definitive score for each iPhone title.

(N.B. The monthly games chart is based on titles released and reviewed in the last month. The apps chart is based on titles reviewed over the last three months. Hence, this is not a cumulative chart and earlier released titles may have higher scores.)
It might be called Limbo, but Playdead's atmospheric platform-puzzler is in gaming heaven after finishing atop the July iPhone Qi game chart. Still, the mood remains resolutely downbeat in this dark, melancholic masterpiece. Just below Limbo, we have a double dose of digital kleptomania. In Star Thief, at #2, you hoover up loose stars as quickly as they appear. In Tiny Thie f, at #3, however, you pinch, well, anything that's not nailed down. It's a charming point-and-click adventure from the Rovio Stars stable. Let's end this section as we began, though, with an arty adventure game. In Hero of Many, you guide a bunch of tadpoles to safety in a Limbo-like silhouette world. Swell.
Topping the July iPhone Qi app chart is Whisper for App.net, which helps you keep up with your friends on the go via multi-person chat through an ADN private messaging system. In sixth place this month, PhotoNova 2 enables you to enhance your iPhone photos with a range of stunning special effects (you can even change the background with a green screen tool). Close behind that handy photography tool is Epoch, a beautiful way to browse video content themed around your mood. Finally, LaLa Breakfast helps busy parents plan breakfasts for their kids. It's the most important meal of the day eaten at the busiest time of the day, I hear, so this app is obviously proving to be a massive help.
We'll continue to provide an updated listing each and every month, together with a round-up of the year. For all the up-to-date information on which iPhone games, apps, and publishers are reviewing best, head on over to the iPhone Quality Index now.
