(N.B. The monthly games chart is based on titles released and reviewed in the last month. The apps chart is based on titles reviewed over the last three months. Hence, this is not a cumulative chart and earlier released titles may have higher scores.)
It seems that the iPhone charts suffered an all-out assault from a collection of curious critters during the month of March. The colour-changing charms of Munch Time HD’s elastic-tongued protagonist proved so irresistible that they earned him a place at the top of Qi’s prestigious shortlist. Spitting shiny pebbles at the competition from eighth place, meanwhile, is the slimy green star of Zuma’s Revenge! HD, who has managed to convince plenty of iPhone game critics who dare to click ‘download’ on its App Store page of its brilliance. If chameleons and frogs weren’t enough to contend with, though, superb physics-puzzler The Drop Out has got players defying gravity to rescue yet more beasties from an unspecified - but probably unpleasant - fate.
While creatures dominated this month’s iPhone Qi games chart, the quest for knowledge is the driving force behind March’s top-rated apps. CloudMagic’s ability to scour multiple accounts in search of relevant data - from your Gmail inbox to your Twitter feed - has helped push it straight into the #1 spot this month. If you’ve found the information you’re looking for but you feel you’re not absorbing it quickly enough, then Reading Trainer is on hand to speed up your assimilation skills. Finally, if you want to impress down at the pub quiz, the second-placed app Unnecessary Knowledge Free is a treasure trove of largely useless facts which will help you to identify the name of John Lennon’s cat. It’s called Elvis, by the way.
We'll continue to provide an updated listing each and every month, together with a round-up of the year. For all the up-to-date information on which games, apps, and publishers are reviewing best, head on over to the iPhone Quality Index now.
