(N.B. The monthly games chart is based on titles released and reviewed in the last month. The apps chart is based on titles reviewed over the last three months. Hence, this is not a cumulative chart and earlier released titles may have higher scores.)

Whether we're talking skittles, bowling, or Jenga, the simple fact remains that we all love knocking stuff over. It's no surprise, then, that Perfect Hit! tops the September iPhone Qi game chart with its bright 3D graphics and impeccably solid physics. If we were handing out awards for style, though, Graveck's Strata would be the undisputed #1 game for September. As it is, it's a worthy #5 thanks to the refreshing ribbon-based take on the casual puzzle genre. Following closely behind, Junk Jack X has built quite a name for 'itself'. Yes, that was a (truly awful) pun. And, no, I don't care. In the game itself, you have to construct, forage, and explore your way to victory. Heroes of Loot also had a good month, with OrangePixel seamlessly combining elements of roguelike RPGs and arcade shooters.

According to Qi, September's top iPhone app is Tastemade. Here, its maker takes food photography to the next level, so you can take brief videos of your foodie experiences and then share them with a community of like-minded gourmands. At #2, Fotobeam enables you to send pictures to another nearby iOS device quickly and effortlessly using a clever sound-based trigger system. It's especially handy for those with older iPhones who can't utilise AirDrop. Speaking of great-but-limited Apple features, AirPrint is a useful tool for direct printing from your iPhone. For non-AirDrop wi-fi printers, there's now Printer Pro, which takes the #3 slot for September. Down in fifth spot, though, Marvin finally makes its way from iPad to iPhone. This slick ebook app allows you to read DRM-free EPUB publications via a stylish, flexible interface.

We'll continue to provide an updated listing each and every month, together with a round-up of the year. For all the up-to-date information on which iPhone games, apps, and publishers are reviewing best, head on over to the  iPhone Quality Index  now.
