(N.B. The monthly games chart is based on titles released and reviewed in the last month. The apps chart is based on titles reviewed over the last three months. Hence, this is not a cumulative chart and earlier released titles may have higher scores.)

Making the transition to Android in record-breaking style - and sprinting straight to the top of our game chart - is everyone’s favourite free-to-play time sink Temple Run. Critics agree that this multi-million-downloaded endless-runner deserves the attention it has received from consumers, resulting in a glowing Qi score of 9.1. If you get tired of running and fancy hunkering down and defending some towers, WestRiver's Slime vs. Mushroom2 has done an excellent job of repelling potential usurpers to finish in second place on our April round-up. Alternatively, if managing resources in sub-zero conditions is more your cup of tea, then the highly rated Ice Age Village may put a freeze on your productivity.

Tinkling the ivories at the top of the Android app chart this month, meanwhile, is handy musical assistant Piano Companion: Chords, Scales, which offers budding Beethovens a conveniently portable cheat sheet to facilitate their fingering. Should you be on the hunt for a decent background for your Android blower, however, you might want to cast an eye over Wallbase HD Wallpapers’s well-reviewed collection of high-resolution images. Also, if you want to replicate that shallow focus of DSLR cameras on your smartphone, then AfterFocus provides some rather intuitive post-processing options, which yield surprisingly excellent results.

We'll continue to provide an updated listing each and every month, together with a round-up of the year. For all the up-to-date information on which games, apps, and publishers are reviewing best, head on over to the  Android Quality Index  now.
