(N.B. The monthly games chart is based on titles released and reviewed in the last month. The apps chart is based on titles reviewed over the last three months. Hence, this is not a cumulative chart and earlier released titles may have higher scores.)

December proved to be a stellar month for Android gaming, yessiree. After all is said and done,  Prehistoric Park takes the top spot on the Android Qi game chart. In this title from Gear Games, you are tasked with building a rickety theme park for your caveman customers. In second place on the monthly rundown comes Freeze!, which may look like a rather dark and sinister game, but is actually an entertainingly breezy physics-puzzler where you must rotate each stage to guide your maudlin hero to the exit point. Anomaly Korea in fifth ramps the scale right back up with its bombastic 3D action-strategy gameplay, while Gameloft's cutting-edge  Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour (in eighth) stands out given it's one of the most full featured and best-looking first-person shooters on mobile to date.

In the world of Android apps, meanwhile, reddit sync pro tops the December Qi chart. Just behind SyncApp's fast and fluid Reddit reader is another top-notch reader app, Falcon PRO, which makes mobile Twitter navigation a whole lot easier. ViewRanger Outdoors GPS, down in seventh place, is a complete mapping and navigation tool - the ideal app for those who love outdoor pursuits. Finally, in eighth place, we have the highly acclaimed Snapseed photography tool, which allows amateur shutterbugs to easily and quickly enhance and edit their mobile snaps. Say 'cheese'!

We'll continue to provide an updated listing each and every month, together with a round-up of the year. For all the up-to-date information on which Android games, apps, and publishers are reviewing best, head on over to the  Android Quality Index  now.
