Qualityindex.com reveals the top 10 critically acclaimed iPhone games and apps of April 2012

Because best-selling doesn't necessarily mean best quality!

London, UK - 3rd May  2012 - Steel Media Ltd

The iPhone Quality Index boasts over 200,000 scores from the world's best websites, such as 148Apps, Pocket Gamer, and What's On iPhone, and uses a unique metric to create a single definitive score for each iPhone title.

(N.B. The monthly games chart is based on titles released and reviewed in the last month. The apps chart is based on titles reviewed over the last three months. Hence, this is not a cumulative chart and earlier released titles may have higher scores.)

As a clear illustration of the franchise's success, the gratis version of scribbling sensation Draw Something has shot to the top of April’s iPhone Qi chart, proving that although login figures for OMGPOP's Pictionary-esque title may be on the wane, the critical consensus remains overwhelmingly positive. Elsewhere, tower ATTACK game Dofus: Battles 2 has fought its way into second place, with discerning  critics uniting behind its unique brand of genre-defying monster madness. Of course, the only thing that appeals to people as much as monsters is cats, which might explain the 9.1 Qi rating match-three puzzler Kitten Sanctuary has managed to attain over the past four weeks.

As for the best-reviewed apps this month, there is a distinctly vocal theme running through April’s high fliers. Top-ranked Little Bird Tales App allows children to create and record their own stories, then share them with their friends and classmates - a feature which has earned praise from scores of teaching groups. Once all of the kids have finished creating, they can improve their language skills by using WINKToLEARN's melodic teaching app Sing to Learn English 1. Finally, once the bairns have mastered the basics, they can improve their linguistic skills further still with the interactive pronounciation bible PIR - PronounceItRight. Education, education, education.

We'll continue to provide an updated listing each and every month, together with a round-up of the year. For all the up-to-date information on which games, apps, and publishers are reviewing best, head on over to the  iPhone Quality Index  now.
