Quantic Announces Planet Zero Partnership & Kensou Pick-up

Quantic Gaming, LLC, a revolutionary eSports, new media, and brand representation organization, opens up its Fighting Game Division in partnership with Planet Zero, the largest Japanese fighting game arcade in the south. The goal is to bridge the established pro gaming platform with the fighting game community, while creating more opportunities for both communities.

This new program combines Quantic Gaming's extensive knowledge of brand representation and eSports knowledge with Planet Zero's event organization expertise and its Japanese and American partners.

Two time SBO qualifier, Houston fighting game community leader, and veteran, Kevin "Kensou" Turner, has been picked as the first player to be sponsored under the newly formed division. His experience, skill, and knowledge are essential for the position of the first player under the Quantic Fighting Game Division.

Kensou will make his debut under Quantic at the Socal Regionals in Orange County on December 16th- 18th, 2011.

About Kensou

It began for most people with finding a quarter on the ground, or trying to get that wrinkled up dollar bill into the change machine. Kids and adults alike swarmed arcades, convenience stores, grocery chains, restaurants, and wherever else you could find a Street Fighter 2 machine. This was the golden era of the fighting game scene, and birth of a new culture in the gaming world. But all good things must come to an end, and soon the golden age would pass into the silver age beginning with Street Fighter 3 Third Strike, Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Capcom vs SNK 2. This is when Kevin "Kensou" Turner first started his journey into the fighting game pantheon.

Kensou has been around the local fighting game tournament scene for about 15 years and holds numerous titles under his belt, including representing USA at SBO in Japan for Guilty Gear Accent Core in 2008 as well as Street Fighter 4 and Blazblue Continuum Shift in 2010. He also won Guilty Gear XX at Texas Showdown and Final Round in 2004 and placed fourth behind three Japanese players at Evo2k that year. He also won Guilty Gear Slash at Showdown Championships 2006 and Blazblue Continuum Shift in 2010. He's the current champion for King of Fighters 13 and Blazblue Continuum Shift 2 at Showdown Championships, titles which he won at Anime Matsuri 2011.

Among other franchises, Kensou plays Street Fighter, Blazblue, King of Fighters, Soul Calibur and Tekken games and is arguably the most well rounded player in this part of the country. In his free time, he enjoys drawing, teaching fighting game basics to new players and managing his own streaming channel. He graduated from the Houston Art Institute in 2008 and currently works as a Sound Engineer.
