Real Time Strategy war game Autumn Dynasty arrives on Blackberry 10

Singapore 7 March 2013 -

Fresh from their success on iOS, indie RTS developer Touch Dimensions has picked Blackberry 10 as their next release platform, citing strong support from Blackberry developer relations for their title Autumn Dynasty.

Autumn Dynasty is a real time strategy game rendered in the style of a traditional Chinese painting. Players use simple brushstrokes and gestures to direct their soldiers, painting their orders directly on the battle map. Designed from the ground up for mobile, this intuitive control scheme seeks to capture the spirit of classical maneuver warfare, allowing players precise control over hundreds of soldiers as they attempt to flank their foes or block an enemy advance—all without a steep learning curve.

For Blackberry owners, the game offers a full featured real time strategy experience. Players can train units, construct buildings and research upgrades. Special terrain-based abilities can also be unlocked to turn the tide of battle: forests can be set on fire, avalanches can be triggered near mountains and ambushes can be laid in hills.

Three game modes are available for players to explore: A grand story campaign with unique scripted levels that chronicle the Autumn Uprising, a free form Skirmish mode against AI opponents, as well as an instant action Blitz mode. Each of these have multiple difficulty levels, with achievements to be earned and competed for on Scoreloop.

Autumn Dynasty goes on sale today on Blackberry World at $4.99.
