Record Numbers at London MCM Expo


Last weekend’s London MCM Expo saw record attendance figures, show organisers have revealed. Closing out this year’s London Games Festival, the event saw around 46,500 visitors come through the doors over the Hallowe’en weekend, breaking the record set at the previous MCM Expo in May 2010.

“We are overwhelmed by the turnout for MCM Expo, with nearly 47,000 consumers,” said marketing director Bryan Cooney.“The support from UKIE, London Games Festival, the games press and the games publishers has been bigger than ever. We are already looking forward to May 2011.”

The latest London MCM Expo was sponsored by Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and the game’s developers, Raphael Dominguez (Ubisoft Annecy) and Mathieu Gagnon (Ubisoft Montreal), hosted exclusive Q&A sessions for fans of the upcoming game on both days of the show.

Meanwhile, Capcom gave MCM Expo visitors their first hands-on of much-anticipated beat‘em up Marvel Vs Capcom 3 and Tecmo Koei showed a world exclusive trailer for Dynasty Warriors 7, which they also announced was going to be released for Xbox 360 as well as PS3.

Other titles on display included GoldenEye 007 and Kirby’s Epic Yarn from Nintendo; Dead Space 2 and Medal of Honor from EA Games; Enslaved and Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom from Namco Bandai; Super Scribblenauts and Batman: The Brave&Bold from Warner Bros. Games; BlazBlue: Continuum Shift from PQube/Zen United and Sony’s Gran Turismo 5.
