Representatives of east-south Asia was selected for GNGWC 2008

Representatives from each country for a global game competition, GNGWC 2008, have been selected for the past few weeks and some countries are still having preliminaries. On September 6, Southeast Asian representatives have been selected for Atlantica, ShotOnline and Navy Field in a preliminary round held in Polytech University, Singapore.

GNGWC is held by Korea SW Ingustry Promotion Agency (KIPA) and being sponsored by KT. Players for the final rounds this year are being decided one by one. Southeast Asian players will also take part in the final rounds on this coming November at Kintex, Ilsan, Korea, along with other players from Europe and all over the world.

A 16 year-old Southeast Asian Atlantica player,‘Khairui Farhan’, has shown a remarkable technique and strategy, however lost the first place and finished second. He said he plans to come to Korea with his parents and he is very glad to visit Korea that is the place of origin for online games. A lot of different events were happening on that day, so many gamers stayed until the very last moment enjoying the scenes.

The second player who got the tickets for the finals said that he has made to the finals on 2006. And last year he felt sorry that there was no preliminary rounds in Southeast Asia at all, so this year he wants to do his best.

For the Navyfield Southeast Asia preliminary,‘Big Exp’ clan made a way to the finals.‘Big Exp’ clan is a powerful team who took the third place in US preliminary round. This year, it participated in Korea and Singapore preliminary and finally made it to the finals.

Director Kim Il gon from Korea SW Ingustry Promotion Agency said,“KIPA is running game&game.com to provide free online game services to players overseas and is opening a global competition, Game and Game World Championship. (GNGWC) We hope these opportunities would serve Korean games to be promoted overseas.”

Many game companies and players complimented that GNGWC has been improved in many different aspects when it is only the third year. They also hope that Korean games would be known worldwide through GNGWC.
