Retro Gamer launches first podcast

Retro Gamer has always been dedicated to bringing its readers the very best interviews and articles, and now it’s possible to hear the information from the developers themselves by heading to iTunes or www.retrogamer.net for the new Retro Gamer podcasts.

The first podcast is out now, with new shows planned for release on a monthly basis. It will feature Editor Darran Jones and Staff Writer Stuart Hunt as they interview some of the UK’s greatest developers. Listeners will be treated to in-depth professional interviews that delve into each developer’s career, giving the listeners a far better picture of the classic developer being interviewed. Jon Ritman, the creator of Head Over Heels and Batman is our first guest and Retro Gamer’s Editor Darran Jones is delighted with the final results.

“The beauty of these podcasts means we can really get under the skin of whoever we’re talking to,” said Jones.“I’ve always been a huge fan of Jon’s games and it was a real pleasure to meet up with the legendary coder and discover what makes him tick. It’s a great addition to the magazine, is really fun to take part in and is typical of the detail that Retro Gamer goes to.”

Business Development Manager Nick Roberts is in full agreement,“Retro fans are going to love what we’ve put together with the new Retro Gamer podcast. It’s fascinating to hear the programmers of those games we all grew up with talking candidly about their experiences with early computers. It will take you right back to 1985, without the body popping and deeley boppers!”

The Retro Gamer podcast is the latest in a full range of internet broadcasts from Imagine Publishing, including iCreate, SciFiNow, High-Definition Review, X360, Play and Total PC Gaming.
