Richard Garriott to hold keynote at Quo Vadis 2013

In their 11th year Quo Vadis , one of the largest and most reknown game developer conferences in Europe, presents a very special international highlight: Games superstar Richard Garriott will hold a keynote on Wednesday 24 th April about the future of gaming and his project Shroud of the Avatar.

The developers’ conference 'Quo Vadis', created in 2003, takes place from 23 th to 25 th April in Cafe Moskau in Berlin. A lot of well known game professionals will talk at the conference this year, like Ed Fries, Al Lowe, Paul Trowe, Bob Berry, Charles Cecil, Guillaume Rambourg, Jens Begemann, Klaas Kersting and many more.

Richard Garriott is one of the world’s most popular game designers. In 2006, Richard was presented with two honours for his work in the games industry. In February, he was inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame and in March he was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Game Developers Choice Awards.

In October of 2008, Richard fulfilled his lifelong dream to travel to space when he launched aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft to the International Space Station and became the sixth private citizen to fly in Earth’s orbit. In doing so, Richard became the first second-generation American in space, following the path of his father Owen Garriott, who completed two space missions during his NASA career.

Today Richard is co-vice chairman of the board of Space Adventures, Ltd. and is the co-founder and creative director at Portalarium, an Austin-based game developer and publisher creating online games and virtual worlds for social networks and mobile platforms. The Quo Vadis – Create. Game. Business. conference is the core event of Germany's leading game developers networking and communication platform, DGT – Deutsche Gamestage (April 23 - 27, 2013, Berlin). Taking place from Tuesday, April 23 – Thursday, April 25, at Café Moskau in the heart of Berlin, it offers an exclusive business center, international keynotes, hands-on workshops, visionary lectures and top-class networking events.
