Cambridge, Mass.– July 23, 2010– Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that tracks from Warner Bros Records’ hard rock band Avenged Sevenfold and tracks from Latin Music superstar Juanes will be available next week in the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content for the Xbox 360 ® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation ® 3 computer entertainment system and Wii TM .
“We hope kids are excited to play these songs in Rock Band and to experience more of our music in a different way coming on the Rock Band 3 disc,” said M. Shadows, lead vocalist of Avenged Sevenfold.
With more than 400 artists, including Jimi Hendrix, The Who, AC/DC and Green Day, who are exclusive to Rock Band, as well as more than 1,550 songs available through the Rock Band platform and 70 million songs sold through its download store alone, Rock Band is the undisputed sales and content leader in the interactive music space, providing the deepest and best selection of artists, songs and albums.

Avenged Sevenfold formed in 1999 in Huntington Beach, Calif., while the original band members were still in high school. The band made its official debut in July 2001, releasing Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, followed by2003's Waking the Fallen, and 2005’s breakthrough release, City of Evil, which reached No. 30 on Billboard's Top 200 and garnered the band the Best New Artist Award at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards. Avenged Sevenfold’s fourth and self-titled release debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200 when it was released in October 2007. The band will release its fifth studio album, Nightmare, day-and-date with its first three-pack of songs for Rock Band, on July 27, bringing the total number of Avenged Sevenfold available for Rock Band to seven. Juanes’ relationship with Rock Band fans will continue later this year with the inclusion of smash single“Me Enamora”in the October 2010 release of Rock Band 3. Rock Band 2 is available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 system, PlayStation ® 2 computer entertainment system and Wii system. Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 system and Wii versions support downloadable content.
Downloadable content for Wii is purchased via the in-game Rock Band Music Store using Wii Points TM purchased through the Wii TM Shop Channel and can be downloaded to the system memory or to an SD card for additional storage. The tracks stream directly from the SD card for seamless play.
With these additions, there are now 1,560 tracks available to date via disc and download purchase (complete list of tracks at www.rockband.com/music). Rock Band continues to satisfy music fans’ and gamers' voracious appetite for rock with more than 70 million paid downloads since its launch Nov. 20, 2007. The Rock Band Music Store allows players to preview and purchase downloadable individual music tracks and packs from the vast selection of offerings available to date without ever leaving the game as they build their own custom Rock Band library.
