LOS ANGELES – (March 26, 2013)Rubicon Group Holding (RGH) has appointed gaming industry veteran Jeff Nuzzi to the position of Director of Digital Media; it was announced by Randa Ayoubi, CEO.

Based at RGH Entertainment in Los Angeles and reporting to RGH Executive Director North America, David Corbett, Nuzzi will lead the company’s efforts to create a world-class digital platform of games, educational and entertainment content for its growing library of intellectual properties.

One of the first properties to be developed and marketed by Nuzzi is Monster In My Pocket®, a popular brand of collectible monsters for boys, which RGH recently licensed from IP creator and owner MEG. Nuzzi will lead RGH’s talented global team in the U.S., Jordan, Manila and Dubai to deliver Monster In My Pocket to a worldwide audience through a broad spectrum of game platforms, apps, and online and social media.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jeff Nuzzi to the RGH team on the heels of his many successes in the digital marketplace,” said Ayoubi. “His recent accomplishments and specialized skill set are acutely in tune with our goal to build a digital division that will quickly and efficiently maximize the potential of all of our IPs across many platforms.”

Corbett added, “Jeff’s proven experience in digital media adds a crucial new dimension to our strategy to develop Monster In My Pocket® into a true transmedia property. We are excited to have him on board at the start of our efforts to transform this successful brand of collectibles into a hit on screens of every size.”

“Building a large engaged audience by telling stories across multiple mediums is a tremendous opportunity. That these stories can begin as digital content speaks to the powerful impact of technology on entertainment. With their expertise in feature film, TV, games, consumer products, and themed entertainment, RGH is in a unique position to create enduring transmedia franchises, and I look forward to leading the team as we build out the company’s digital arm,” said Nuzzi.

Nuzzi has been at the forefront of mobile entertainment and games. He comes to RGH from The Walt Disney Company where he served as Sr. Manager of Marketing at Disney Mobile. At Disney, he led the go-to-market effort for the hugely successful Where’s My Water?, in addition to dozens of apps for Disney franchises such as Cars, Toy Story, and TRON. In addition, he managed Marvel titles Thor and Captain America and sports apps through ESPN.

Nuzzi joined Disney from THQ Wireless. As Director, Global Marketing, he acquired mobile rights to and managed licenses for Star Wars, professional sports leagues (NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL), SpongeBob SquarePants, Hello Kitty, Midway Games and WWE. Prior to THQ, Nuzzi held senior level marketing positions at Universal Interactive, managing such titles as The Thing, The Lord of the Rings, Bruce Lee and The Fast and the Furious; Atari, where he launched games based on Looney Tunes and Peanuts; and Fox Interactive, where he worked on high profile brands including Die Hard, Croc, and The Simpsons.
