Samsung adds‘PlayJam’ to its raft of Smart TV Apps

London, UK, 6 July 2011 - Samsung Electronics Co. UK Ltd, the UK’s number one TV brand with the most awarded TV range 1 today announces the world’s largest TV games network PlayJam as the latest partner for its Smart TV App store, Samsung Apps. 

The collaboration allows Samsung Smart TV users to play some of the most engaging casual and social games available from PlayJam’s 500-strong library of leading in-house and branded titles.

The PlayJam App offers Smart TV users a new, convenient way to access games, without the need for an add-on games console. At a click of a button on the remote, PlayJam’s vast array of games will be streamed directly to Samsung Smart TVs. Displayed in premium HD widescreen picture, games are delivered in vibrant colours with incredible motion-processing and picture stability to ensure viewers are completely captivated.

Furthermore, the PlayJam Social TV Games Platform enables social networking between casual gamers through chat and messaging within the network. Competition between gamers is actively encouraged through core features such as live mass-participation events, gaming tournaments, virtual currencies and leaderboard displays. Such added-value gaming capabilities combined with significant picture and gameplay enhancements will drive frequency of play and customer loyalty whilst creating sustainable revenue streams for games developers.

Samsung’s Smart TVs are offering viewers a completely new viewing experience that includes 3D technology and features an easy–to-use Smart Hub that opens up content from Apps, the internet and other access points to the TV. 

Using the‘Search All’ function, gamers can search for content on not just the television, but across the internet and on any connected storage, PC or mobile device within the home network. While, with Samsung’s‘Your Video’ service viewers will gain access to their own personalised movie guide by enabling viewers to watch and preview video clips and TV shows from their TV through a customised recommendation service for video on demand.
