London, UK– British indie developer Big Ideas Digital are proud to announce that their second iPhone game, Say What You See: The Collection™ 2.0 has become the #1 free game on the UK Apple App Store after just seven days. At the time of writing, it’s currently sitting at #1 in the free games chart in the UK Apple App Store, and is also the #2 free app (all categories).
While it can take some apps months to climb into the upper echelons of the chart, Say What You See™’s addictive rebus-puzzles have managed to work their way into people’s hearts in just seven days - the new 2.0 update was released on 2nd May.
The free-to-download game (which was recently described as‘The most fun visual puzzle game in the App Store” by the Free App Hero app) involves spotting themed pop culture references in a beautifully hand-painted scenes (or iCanvases). Each scene is downloaded separately, so that players only have to acquire the iCanvases for subjects that spark their interest.
The 2.0 release last week also debuted a new artist for Say What You See™, Gary Lucken, better known to his fans as‘Army of Trolls’. Gary is famous for his unique pixel art style, which emulates the blocky look of old videogames. Fittingly he contributed an iCanvas that asked players to spot old arcade game titles. Told of the app’s success in his studio this morning, he said: "I'm really happy that Say What You See and my arcade canvas is doing so well - unfortunately my dog Pixel (who stars as one of the puzzles) has totally let the fame go to his head– where am I supposed to get gold bones from?"
Big Ideas Digital are planning to release new iCanvases regularly. The next canvas,‘80’s Pop’ will be released in June.
Say What You See: The Collection is available free in the App Store here: www.tinyurl.com/swysapp2
Say What You See: The Collection™ comes with 1 free iCanvas featuring 50 puzzles. Additional iCanvases cost 99¢/59p.
