The European Serious game summit e-virtuoses opens its doors next month in Valenciennes, north of France, organised by the Grand Hainaut Chamber of Commerce (CCI). The 500 professionals expected to attend will grow their expertise with a program of conferences based around 4 pivotal themes, discover emerging trends and take part in a dedicated research symposium.

All the current issues facing the sector will be tackled over the course of 24 conferences scheduled for May 24 th. Attendees will also have the opportunity to try out the 16 Serious games nominated for the ‘e-virtuoses Award’.

To close the day, the Massachussetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Simlinx and De Montfort University (UK) lead a round table to discuss a range of communication and marketing issues.

- PixeLearning and Mavi Interactive discuss tools to motivate employees.
- KTM Advance presents Meca Genius, a video game which aims to educate university and high school students about careers in mechanical engineering.

- EDF and Real Fusio demonstrate Formation intervention incendie EDF (Fire fighting training), a game designed to provide solutions for risk management in industry.
-Games for Health Europe showcases Serious games for the medical sector.
-VirDyS presents Sea Sim Crisis , a game designed to aid the management of marine pollution.
Evaluation and measurement of the impact of Serious games
-Newcomers to the world of Serious games will be initiated into the sector at the introductory session on May 24 th from 9-10 am (Session Starter).
One hour in the company of industry experts Julian Alvarez and Damien Djaouti will ensure that attendees leave with a wealth of information and their very own “Introduction to Serious games” booklet.
-From 2 pm to 2.20 pm, the University Montpellier I and MIT discuss the added value of Serious games in the context of the MoJOS project, a game engine developed for use by the medical industry.
-From 4 pm to 4.45 pm, the audience calculates the “cost of a Serious game” with the help of leading professionals from across Europe including Succubus Interactive (France), Games4Health Europe (Netherlands) and the Serious Games Institute (UK).

Created and initiated by the Grand Hainaut Chamber of Commerce (CCI), the e-virtuoses conference will take place on 23 and 24 May 2012 in Valenciennes, north of France.
For the 2012 edition, the event will offer buyers of Serious games in France and overseas, as well as decision makers from health, communication, human resources and any industry interested in video game innovation, the opportunity to grow their expertise, gain hands-on experience, and measure the real impact of Serious games.
Entry to the event is free. The event is financed by public bodies and the regional government.
