London 20 th April, 2012 – ShopTo.net has beaten off strong competition from high street stores such as Game and HMV, as well as online rivals, Play.com and Gamestop.com to take home the MCV award for Specialist Retailer of the Year 2012.
The MCV awards recognise the very best that is on offer in the videogames world and is voted for by a large independent judging panel, with members from across all sectors of the games industry. The award ceremony was held on the evening of Thursday 19th April at the Lancaster London Hotel.
Igor Cipolleta, CEO for ShopTo, beamed, "This MCV award shows that the passion and performance of every member of the ShopTo team is being recognised at the highest level in UK retailing. We will keep innovating and building the ShopTo brand, which I know will continue to delight customers and lead the market."
ShopTo.net recently reported on a formidable 2011 with profits soaring 254%, and has experienced a brilliant start to 2012 with Igor commenting, "We are hugely optimistic about the future with a number of exciting new initiatives under way including the recently acquired movie streaming business FetchTV."
The MCV Industry Excellence Awards marked its tenth anniversary in style with comedian and Inbetweeners star Greg Davies hosting the event at the Lancaster London hotel.
