Simple Socks™ Jumps Into the App Store

SAN FRANCISCO – September 22, 2011 – Simple Games, Inc. today announced the availability of their first mobile game title, Simple Socks™ for iPad™, iPhone® and iPod® Touch worldwide on the App Store. Designed to entertain players of all ages, Simple Socks is a single-player puzzle game featuring hours of gameplay, original storyline and music, colorful characters, an endless supply of special abilities and power-ups as well as challenging levels for the more skilled gamer. Easy to learn, yet difficult to master, audiences can download both versions of Simple Socks today – a paid version at $1.99/€1.59/£1.49 and a free, ad-supported version.

It’s widely known that over time socks disappear from the sock drawer, the hamper, and the wash, and no one knows why and where the socks go…..In Simple Socks, Jenny the Sock Fairy and her Legion of Nocturnal Elves have been hard at work stealing warm and cozy socks while people sleep. With a unique twist on the classic match-style puzzle game, players are tasked with ending the Sock Fairy’s evil empire by helping return socks to their mates in the sock drawer. Players create matching pairs of socks to steal them back from the mischievous elves. Unique power-up socks and awarded power-ups are based on gameplay achievements. Additionally, the game features obstacles and hazards like Harley the Zombie Sock, who turns socks stinky and green! Dirty socks can be cleaned, but you have to play to find out how!

Skilled gamers will enjoy the challenging levels filled with obstacles, power-ups, chains and multipliers as well as lots of un-lockable content for tremendous replay value. Simple Socks is also integrated with the Game Center for leaderboards and achievements. Parents and kids will enjoy the lovable and diverse characters, colorful high-quality graphics, accessible and touchscreen controls. Additionally, the game introduces and encourages three distinct learning areas for children: counting, pattern recognition, and strategy. Simple Socks also features high production values in music and sound effects, which are provided by award-winning composer Luke Williams of Elephant Audio.

“As our first title for the market, Simple Socks is all about accessibility, constant discovery, and high production values,” said Martin Mueller, Chief Creative Officer and founder of Simple Games, Inc. “What we found through extensive play testing and iterations is that we get a sticky rate of about 12-17 minutes for Simple Socks. We believe this combination of playability, stunning visuals and uniquely crafted sounds makes for a great gaming experience. Additionally the game has enough depth and replay value to keep players coming back for more fun again and again.”
