Single gamers create sexiest virtual girlfriend

Meet Lara Lockhart — the “perfect” virtual woman.

Almost 2,000 British gamers said the busty redhead would be their “ultimate dream date”.

The virtual vixen was created by digitally mixing the “sexiest” attributes of female gaming characters.

She has the “fiery” hair of Joanna Dark from Perfect Dark, the “killer legs” of Lara Croft from Tomb Raider, and athletic body of Final Fantasy VII’s Tifa Lockhart, according to a poll of 18-35-year-olds by gaming dating site,

Lara’s name — a mix of Lara Croft and Tifa Lockhart — also has the “piercing” eyes of Faith Connors from Mirror's Edge and the “sumptuous” lips of Rocksteady Studios' Catwoman.

A spokesman for Date A Gamer — the UK’s first dating site for video game fans —  said: “The majority of female computer game characters are created by men so it's not surprising they appeal to male fantasies.

“Lara Tifa combines the best of each to give the total package: beauty, intelligence, and confidence. The only drawback is she doesn't really exist.”

Site members aged between 18 and 35 were given a list of 10 popular female computer game characters and asked to pick the best attribute from each.

The full list comprised Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider series, Street Fighter character Chun Li, Tifa Lockhart from the Final Fantasy franchise, Catwoman from Batman: Arkham City, Joanna Dark from Perfect Dark, Faith Conners from Mirror's Edge, Nintendo icon Princess Peach, Jill Valentine from Resident Evil, Alyx Vance from Half-Life 2 and Asari researcher Liara T'Soni, from the Mass Effect trilogy.

Lara Croft picked up 53 per cent for her legs, beating Chun-Li's 44 per cent, while   the famously top-heavy Tifa received 45 per cent of the vote for her face and also beat main rival Lara with 38 per cent for her pixel-perfect body. Joanna Dark's striking red hair was a hit with 36 per cent of respondents, Catwoman's lips received 33 per cent of the vote, and Faith Conners' eyes mesmerised 41 per cent.

When it came to personality, the 'girl next door' appeal of Alyx Vance won out with 31 per cent, followed by Princess Peach, who got 26 per cent of the vote for her “warmth and ability to bake a good cake”.

Alien siren Liara, on the other hand, received eight per cent of the vote for being the ideal “older woman”. In the Mass Effect series she is 106 years old.
