Sony has joined as a new sponsor of Brasil Game Show

Sony’s PlayStation line will be highlighted in particular at the upcoming largest Games Show in South America with the most significant booth, measuring nearly 500 square meters, initiating a new commitment for the company in the Brazilian market.

Fans of the PlayStation platform can now celebrate; Sony confirmed their participation in the Brasil Game Show (BGS). The company promises to bring to the event much of the experience offered to visitors at its booth at E3, held in June in Los Angeles (USA). The BGS will be the first Games Show to receive the seal of approval from Sony in Brazil. In addition to updates to the PlayStation line, the platform with the largest number of users in Brazil, the company intends to show its line of 3D televisions, among other releases. "The sponsorship of Sony further strengthens Brasil Game Show, it is the first time the company has officially participated with a large booth in the Games Show in Brazil. The worldwide market for video games continues to expand with an expected revenue of $73.5 billion in 2013. Currently, games surpass the music industry and even Hollywood in revenue. According to the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), 68% of American households own a video game or computer game interface and 37% of households also play on mobile devices like cell phones, iPhone, iPod and PDA. And now all eyes turn to Brazil, which is clearly one of the most promising markets worldwide.

According to Anderson Gracias , general manager of the Brazilian division of PlayStation, the company's participation in the BGS is remarkable: "It's important for gaming companies to have more professional events and to strengthen this category in the Brazilian market," says Gracias.

The 3rd edition of Brazil Game Show will be held on November 20th and 21st in the state of the art SulAmérica Convention Center– Rio de Janeiro. In 2009, the former Rio Games Show received 12,000 visitors over two days, the event has grown and now the expectation is for an audience of 20,000 people. This year the floor space totals around 8,000 square meters, triple the area used in the previous event and including 60 exhibitors showcasing the latest trends in the gaming market.
