Spiderweb Software Turns 20!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 5 th, 2013 – Happy Birthday to Spiderweb Software ( http://www.spiderwebsoftware.com)! After twenty years and twenty-one games, Spiderweb has shown that indie developers can have full, successful, lifelong careers. In 1993, Spiderweb began on their first game , Exile: Escape from the Pit. This epic tale focused heavily on plot and dialogue, setting the stage for twenty years of fantasy storytelling. The series would go on to win numerous awards and be remade twice over the years. The way games are developed has changed a lot over the years, but much stays the same. Spiderweb still uses graph paper and pencil to map out their games, they are still a mom-and-pop operation in their Seattle home, and the focus of their games is still deep, involving stories. Spiderweb still develops all their games for Mac and Windows, and they were very excited to expand into mobile in 2011 with Avadon: The Black Fortress. While devices, graphics, and character systems may change and improve, Spiderweb Software's commitment to excellent storytelling and complex worlds never will.

In Fall of 2013, Spiderweb will be releasing their twenty-first game, Avadon 2: The Corruption. Find out more at www.spiderwebsoftware.com.
