BRISBANE, Australia - Oct. 12, 2011 - Halfbrick, the Australian development studio behind the smash hit titles Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride, along with Spry Fox, creators of the addictive iOS and Adobe® Flash® game Steambirds, today announced that the newest game in the Steambirds series -- Steambirds: Survival -- is now available for download on mobile iOS platforms from the App Store.

Set in a steampunk-styled war-torn Europe, Steambirds: Survival is a turn-based aerial combat game in which players take on the role of an elite Allied pilot tasked with clearing the skies of the endless waves of Axis enemies. The noble mission is to defend the skies and enable the UK citizens enough time to evacuate before the Axis Armada demolishes their homes.

" Steambirds: Survival has the addictive and strategic gameplay that has already made the franchise so successful and includes a ton of new aerial combat features," said Phil Larsen, chief marketing officer for Halfbrick. "We've worked hand-in-hand with Spry Fox to expand the narrative, build up the strategic elements, add new power-ups, achievements and, of course, the much-loved ability to battle for the highest score with other players through OpenFeint and Game Center."

Steambirds: Survival is the ultimate tactical aerial combat game, with 64 missions demanding strategic coordination and execution. Featuring eight heavily armed aircrafts, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, Steambirds: Survival  pits players against endless waves of Axis aerial assaults. Players must strategically maneuver their aircraft in turn-based dog fights while collecting power-ups dropped by downed enemy aircrafts to survive long enough for the citizens to evacuate.

Steambirds: Survival is now available for all iOS devices (iPad®/iPhone®) for free. To download the game for iPhone, visit:  and for iPad, please visit:
