Steampunk Platformer Aeropack Submitted to the App Store

Do you like steampunk? The nostalgic thrill of retro gaming? Indie game development studio Insurgent Games has submitted to the iPhone App Store its fourth game to date: Aeropack, a steampunk retro platformer. In Aeropack you play as an inventor in need of precious green gems to power your new space travel engine.

You must run, climb, and fly your way through 30 unique platform levels, armed only with your steampowered flying device. But watch out, because at every corner there are steam-powered pixelbots, bouncing gears, and dangerous cannons launching purple bullets at you. Both strategy and skill must be used to collect all the gems and unlock the next stage.

“It's been really fun to work on,” says Micah Lee, head developer at Insurgent Games,“It's a nod to Jetpack, an early 90's PC game by Adept Software.”

Aeropack will be available for download in the App Store in early February. A Mac version of Aeropack is available as a free download from http://www.insurgentgames.com/aeropack.
