Ten Years of Age of Empires II Online

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Perth, Western Australia -- August 27, 2010 -- Age of Empires II: The Conquerors had its 10th birthday this week, and to celebrate, GameRanger is inviting everyone to a day of online gaming on Sunday, August 29 from 9am PT / 12pm ET / 4pm GMT onwards.

Gamers are encouraged to join in for a fun day of multiplayer battles. Whether they're new to the game or recall it fondly from years back, GameRanger is a friendly place with a wide range of skill levels from complete beginner to seasoned veteran.

Even if they don't own the game, or have lost the original disks, gamers can still enjoy 4-player online multiplayer with the free demo versions listed.

Age of Empires II: The Conquerors (also known as Age of Conquerors and AoC) was originally released August 24, 2000. Despite the passage of time it is still played online today, with over 1.1 million games played on GameRanger just in the last month. Few games achieve this kind of lasting community, and Age of Empires II holds a special place in many gamers' hearts.
