The Ball Wins Nordic Game Program Funding; Announces Release Date

Vittinge, Sweden (Teotl Studios) May 5, 2010– Teotl Studios debut game, The Ball, secured a 250 000 DKK (~43 000 USD) grant from the Nordic Game Program. This funding comes in the final months leading up to The Ball's release on August 4, 2010.

“We are honored to receive this funding and recognition from Nordic Game”, says Sjoerd De Jong, founder of Teotl Studios.“These funds will allow us to fully concentrate on the final stages of development before our game release later this summer. We're excited to get the full game into the hands of players.”

The Ball features a journey through the ancient ruins of a long lost civilization. Through the use of a mystical device, players manipulate a large artifact known only as“The Ball”. As players navigate their way through puzzles and hordes of enemies, the game uncovers the secrets that lie deep within a large, dormant volcano. It is an extensive upgrade and full realization of the award-winning prototype mod of the same name.

The Ball is a single player game that utilizes the Unreal Development Kit. The full release will offer 2 different game modes, Campaign and Survival, along with achievements. Players can expect The Ball to be value priced, offering AAA visuals at a fraction of the cost.
