Route 140, the introductory game of the Tweet Land platform, is now available for download on the Apple Store starting January 31st. Tweet Land is the first gaming platform in the world that plays with reality.
"It's time to get on the race car and live a great adventure: escaping tsunamis, zombies, meteorites, motorcycle gangs and many events happening at this very moment on the Twitter social network," said the Tweet Land team from Costa Rica.
The game was officially launched on January 30th in San Jose, in a meeting with the press and special guests in the historical building Antigua Aduana, from the Costa Rican Ministry of Culture and Youth.
The game is designed for iPhone and its download costs $1.99.
With a combination of retro images and a lively original soundtrack, Tweet Land is a game where you get a different experience everytime you play it, and it changes according to the conversations being held online. It is the before and after of videogames, in which social networks come to life and feed a parallel world. Do you dare to live this experience?
Everything that people say around the world in the famous microblogging network affects the game scenes. Although the tweets are responsible for developing the game, you do not need a Twitter account to play.
"We want to go further. We want to reinvent real-time gaming and give life to social experiences that occur every day from real live people. Route 140 is the first step", they said.
It will soon be the turn of Love City, the second game of the series where, in a city full of people, a huge anti-care bear will defend itself from suffocating hugs. His defense will be a weapon that is loaded with "hate-tweets"

The blast came to influential media and specialist websites around the world including CNN, Wired, San Francisco Chronicle, The International Game Developers Association, Indie Games, MacStories and TouchArcade, who joined in the excitement of Tweet Land Game since 2011, when the project was presented at the fundraising website for innovative ideas Kickstarter.com.

The Creators Project initiative from Intel and VICE, predicted that "this game is on the fast track to becoming a phenomenon," as well as Trend Hunter, one of the largest online global communities in innovation which said that "Tweet Land is the perfect blend of retro style and an innovative game that will be a hit among casual gamers."
Idea and interactivity fusion
The innovative gaming platform was created by WHY Ideas and Tree Interactive, two Costa Rican companies that develop cutting-edge business oriented products and concepts.
Advertisers Juan Diego Espinoza, Néstor Villalobos and Luis Diego Vásquez, and computer specialists Alberto, Andrés and Felipe Cartín, are responsible for this creation.
Juan Diego, Néstor and Luis Diego are creative advertisers with a number of awards within and outside Costa Rica. Andrés and Felipe are part of the creative team of Big Boss, a game for Apple iPad that has made significant sales and Wackylands Green, a collection of games designed for iPhone and iPod Touch. Alberto leads projects in computing and received international recognition with his rock band Akasha, which last year won the “40 Principales” price for best Costa Rican band: he plays the guitar and produces and designs audio.
