The global league of the video game champions visits Brazil

Cologne, January 13, 2012 – On February 7 - 11, 2012 the Campus Party Brazil, taking place in the Anhembi Parque in Sao Paulo, will be the setting for the Intel Extreme Masters, the global league of the video game champions. With a total prize purse of 635,000 US Dollar in the 2011/12 season, it is one of the most prominent international tournaments for professional gamers from all over the world. Global Challenge Sao Paulo will feature a StarCraft II tournament with 16 professional gamers competing for a share of 21,000 US Dollars and slots in the grand finale of the league. The Intel Extreme Masters World Championship featuring world's best gamers in Counter-Strike 1.6, StarCraft II and League of Legends will be held in March at CeBIT 2012 in Hanover, Germany.

In addition, the Brazilian event will also host an amateur side tournament for League of Legends with 7,000 US Dollar in prize money.
