Roubaix, France - October 18th, 2011 – From now on, DOFUS´ players will have access to a new PvP battle system. The Kolossium has been conceived as a viable alternative mode for the characters´ progression. It offers balanced fights to all players.
In development for several months and in beta testing since early September , the Kolossium open its doors to all DOFUS subscribers with at least, one level 50 character or greater. It will be available to everyone, regardless of alignment.
The Kolossium is a system that organizes 3Vs3 battles, between players of equivalent level. Players can register individually or in groups, but their opponents are automatically selected. A special rating system determines the matches in order to provide balanced battles (in which each team has 50% chance of winning).
After registering at the Kolossium, players are invited to accept the fight. They are then teleported on the map to start the fight and then returned to their original map at the end of the battle. Each battle takes place randomly on one of the 50 maps selected for the Kolossium and chosen for their tactical interest.
Fighting at the Kolossium allows players to get numerous rewards, beginning with kamas and experience points, but mostly Kolosstokens. The Kolosstokens allow you to obtain exclusive attitudes and resources that you will use to create trophies (new items that will provide a bonus on a specific characteristic) or Soul stones (allowing to capture monsters with a 100% chance of success). Although the system can be accessed from any map in the game, players can also visit the location that symbolizes the Kolossium, located in the heart of the Cania Massif. This building will allow players to come back and create trophies, as well as buying and selling the Kolossium rewards.
A ranking leaderboard will be set up soon in order to classify people by level, rating, number of victories, server, etc.
The statistics related to the Kolossium fights will be used to improve the balance of the character classes.
