He’s the man so manly, they had to name him twice - and now the 1980’s legend of Eternia is defending the castle of Grayskull over on Samsung Apps.

HE-MAN: THE MOST POWERFUL GAME IN THE UNIVERSE , is a classic 2D game which sees the player in the role of the pumped-up protagonist, as he joins forces with his trusty sidekicks to fight against his old baddies - yes, even Skeletor.

The game has proved popular on several platforms, particularly for its respectful nod to the classic retro game style of the cartoon and publisher Chillingo is delighted to see it on the Samsung marketplace, as the company is spearheading the 100% Indie initiative to publish indie games as Samsung Apps.

“The Samsung marketplace is a great place to showcase our games, and of course the 100% Indie team made the process very simple,” says Chris Byatte of Chillingo. “We do actually operate as two separate companies within one building so were very glad to have the 100% Indie team here pushing it through.”

The game is live from today.

Editor’s notes:

The 100% Indie initiative is a collaboration between Chillingo, the leading indie mobile games publisher and division of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) and Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.  The partnership plans to fuel the mobile games developer community and provide unparalleled revenue opportunities*.

Spearheaded by Chillingo founders, Chris Byatte and Joe Wee, 100% Indie aims to inspire, foster and support indie developers around the world.

Any developers interested in joining 100% Indie should visit and submit their games for consideration to Samsung’s mobile apps marketplace, Samsung Apps. The 100% Indie team will review all games to ensure they meet Samsung Apps standards, and once approved, guide developers through the process of bringing their games to market. The portal includes resourceful tools, inspiring articles and information to encourage and motivate developers to create incredible games.

* Developers will receive 90% revenue share from September 4, 2013 – March 3, 2014, 80% revenue share from March 4, 2014 – March 3, 2015, and after March 4, 2015 on Samsung Apps, developers will receive 70% revenue share.
