The opening of the studio continues Thumbstar’s promise of massive global growth and the creation of a fully integrated mobile development, distribution and publishing business.
Having worked at Reflections with Gareth and Martin Edmondson across the entire Driver series, and recently completing work as a Producer on the critically acclaimed Driver San Francisco, Martin Oliver has joined Thumbstar to build and drive the internal development team in the production of high quality mobile gaming IP for its worldwide customers.
CEO Gareth Edmondson observed, “We have worked with Martin for over 10 years at Reflections and his contribution, in particular to the success of Driver San Francisco, puts us in no doubt that he is the right man for the job. We are absolutely delighted Martin has joined us and look forward to creating some top class product.”
With a team already in place and hitting the ground running, the first line up of games will be announced in the not too distant future.
Martin Oliver commented, “Joining Martin and Gareth Edmondson at Thumbstar is a hugely exciting prospect. Martin [Edmondson] is somewhat of a legend in the development world and has produced some classics in Shadow of the Beast and Driver, to name just two, and we already feel we have a strong team in place to continue this tradition in the mobile space.”
Martin continues, “Although we have a full complement within the studio we are always in need of ‘work for hire’ developers to support the many projects we have on the go. By all means contact us if you think this might be of interest."
