Side Joins TIGA
Side provides creative production services and facilities to the video game, film and broadcast industries. The company specialises in casting actors for voice, facial likeness and full performance capture, as well as directing, including voice directing, motion capture and full performance directing. Side also operates an agency division called‘Sidelines’ that represents creative writers for video games.
Side has worked for some of the biggest names in the business, last year working on 5 of the top 20 best selling games in the UK. Currently the team is working on some of the most anticipated titles of the year including Fable III, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, APB and Brink. The company won best creative outsourcing company at the Develop Industry Excellence Awards in 2006 and 2009.
Andy Emery, Creative Director at Side explains the company’s reasons for joining TIGA:“Last year a large percentage of our work came from outside the UK and like UK developers we are concerned about the brain drain to overseas territories who receive more government support in the form of tax relief and subsidies. Therefore we strongly support TIGA’s campaign to achieve Games Tax Relief for the UK development industry. We also hope to network with other TIGA members and continue to increase our profile among the development community.”
Richard Wilson, TIGA CEO welcomed the company to TIGA:“At TIGA we are proud to represent the games industry and the talented, creative companies like Side that make up this exciting sector. We also welcome Side’s commitment to back TIGA’s Games Tax Relief campaign. We warmly welcome Side to the TIGA community.”
Notes to editors:
TIGA is the trade association representing the UK’s games industry. The majority of our members are either independent games developers or in-house publisher owned developers. We also have outsourcing companies, technology businesses and universities amongst our membership.
TIGA's vision is to make the UK the best place in the world to do games business. We focus on three sets of activities: political representation, generating media coverage and developing services that enhance the competitiveness of our members. This means that TIGA members are effectively represented in the corridors of power, their voice is heard in the media and they receive benefits that make a material difference to their businesses, including a reduction in costs and improved commercial opportunities.
