Friday 18th July/... Eidos Interactive, creator of some of the world’s leading videogame properties, can today reveal it will be exclusively showcasing the very first trailer for its hugely anticipated game, Tomb Raider: Underworld, on the BBC’s Something for the Weekend. Tomb Raider: Underworld will be the first computer game trailer to be launched exclusively in the gadget section on the programme, scheduled for Sunday 20th July at a time between 9:30am and 11:00am. The Sun online will exclusively feature the trailer on Saturday from 6pm ( www.thesun.co.uk).
Tomb Raider: Underworld sees Lara undertake her riskiest mission yet, descending to the depths of the underworlds. For generations, stories have been told of the fearsome weapon of the Norse god, Thor. Legend has it that he who wields the hammer has the power to smash mountains into valleys and the strength to destroy even the gods. For more than a thousand years it has existed only as a myth…until now.
In an ancient ruin on the floor of the Mediterranean Sea, Lara Croft uncovers proof of the Norse underworld and the mythical hammer. As Lara attempts to unravel the secrets behind these myths, her perilous journey leads to a forgotten power that, if unleashed, could lay waste to all civilization.
Designed specifically to take advantage of the latest technologies Tomb Raider: Underworld represents a new advancement in exploration-based gameplay. As a fearless adventurer, Lara Croft explores exotic locations around the world, each designed with an incredible attention to detail, resulting in breathtaking high-definition visual fidelity that creates a truly believable world and delivers a new level of challenge and choice.
“ Eidos is really excited to exclusively launch the debut trailer for Tomb Raider: Underworld on Something for the Weekend this Sunday. Lara Croft is a legendary figure and it makes perfect sense to introduce her new trailer on such a popular show as BBC Two’s Something for the Weekend” remarks Jon Brooke of Eidos.
Tomb Raider: Underworld will be on sale from 21st November 2008 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS and Games for Windows. For more information, check out the website at www.tombraider.com
