TAMPERE, Finland, January 26th, 2012 – Prank Ltd, an independent game developer and publisher, has announced the launch of Ant Raid for iPhone and iPod touch, at a price of $0.99. Additionally, free versions for all the supported devices were released, featuring 10 unique levels. Originally Ant Raid was published exclusively for iPad on July 2011, and was ranked as the 8th best iPad game at the end of the year by Metacritic – a website that calculates and lists review score medians.
Ant Raid combines arcade action with casual RTS gameplay. This mixture is spiced up with cartoony graphics and a cheerful horror theme. In Ant Raid, players help a vibrant colony of ant-like creatures survive swarms of fellow insects, mutated into mindless monsters by the toxic fumes of insecticide. The new iPhone version features Retina-display support, 100 playable levels, 4 endless modes, 300 collectible stars, 24 enemy types, 47 Game Center Achievements, 5 world-wide Leaderboards and a complete localization support to 8 languages.
"Before we even considered releasing an iPhone version, we wanted two things to happen. Firstly, the iPad version needed to prove that players actually like Ant Raid. Secondly, the small-screen adaptation had to be equally playable and enjoyable as the original version. I'm excited that we did not just meet our targets, but exceeded them both." says Seppo Santapukki, the Creative Director of Prank.
Ant Raid can now be downloaded for iPad and iPad 2, iPhone 3GS, 4 and 4S and for iPod touch devices of 3rd (higher than 8GB model) and 4th generation. Direct App Store links for free and full versions are listed at get.antraid.com
