Focus on South America: TrafficCaptain - “The Games Performance Network” ( http://www.trafficcaptain.com) intensifies activities in South America with a keen focus on Brazil and the browser and mobile games market. With the intent on establishing a global presence in winning new gamers’, the young Hamburg-based company has expanded its team. Michelle Pereira Jakobs joined TrafficCaptain as Senior Account Manager specializing in performance-based campaigns throughout South America. TrafficCaptain will participate at the upcoming Brasil Game Show in São Paulo (October 25th to 29th - B2B Hall, Booth 26). Newzoo the international market research company for the games industry, recently issued a study which identifies Brazil as “one of the fastest-growing games markets in the world.”
According to the latest figures of the “2013 Newzoo Data Explorer” survey, the Brazilian games market is showing 25-percent annual growth rate, and most recently, total annual consumer-generated game revenues of more than 1.2 billion USD. Mobile games are the main growth driver, with Brazilian users downloading over seven million games from app stores each month.
“We are seeing enormous growth in South America particularly in the mobile games market. TrafficCaptain campaigns in these emerging games markets have shown us that South American players are more likely to spend money on mobile games than in free-to-play online games,” as TrafficCaptain COO, Sandra Fisher, observes.
To ensure optimal fine-tuning for mobile and browser game campaigns for the specific market conditions in South America, and Brazil in particular, TrafficCaptain has taken Michelle Pereira Jakobs on board as Senior Account Manager. The Brazilian native earned a business administration degree in São Paulo and most recently worked as an Online Sales Manager for Hamburg-based game developer Goodgame Studios, where she was responsible for strategic planning to develop the South American market.
With more than 67 million Internet users, Brazil is becoming increasingly relevant for mobile and online game developers. According to the “2013 Newzoo Data Explorer” study, this group includes 48.8 million gamers. The survey also shows that 61 percent of all players spend money on or in online and mobile games.
Newzoo CEO, Peter Warman, sums up the findings of the current Brazil survey as follows: “International games companies have had Brazil in their sights for quite some time now. Our latest study shows that this interest is beginning to pay off. For 2013, we are witnessing the largest increase ever in the number of players that are willing to spend money on or in mobile and online games.“
TrafficCaptain is perfectly positioned for this development, and when it comes to designing International performance-based campaigns, relies strongly on personalized and comprehensive consulting by games experts who are intimately familiar with the respective target markets.
