Triolith obeys market demands: Android games now free

Skövde, Sweden– June 20, 2011– Swedish indie developer Triolith Entertainment faces reality on Android Market and makes the same conclusion as Rovio Mobile: free software supported by ads is the way to go on Android Market.

As of today, the two games that Triolith Entertainment have released on Android Market, Thunder BANG and Wisp, are now free to download. The $0.99 versions remain however, for those who still wish to have an ad-free gaming experience.

Triolith Entertainment plans to release all of their future games on Android for free, with ad support. A major component in this decision was the sales figures of Wisp: Eira’s Tale on iOS, which blew past its counterpart on Android during its first day. Wisp had then been up on Android Market for 48 days.

CEO Magnus Söderberg states that “Despite all the great reviews we’ve received from sites such as and, as well as our users, we just can’t seem to sell enough full-versions on Android Market to warrant a continuation of this payment model. We have to give our customers what they want. So free, ad-supported games it is.”
