Two Gear Announces Flashbike Arenapowered by the Unreal Engine for iPhone and iPad


Madison, WI August 16, 2011: Independent developer Two Gear LLC has announced today they are in the late stages of development for Flashbike Arena an Unreal Engine powered game set for release in late summer 2011 for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Flashbike Arena will take advantage of a lot of the next generation mobile graphics Unreal Engine 3 is capable of including next generation shaders and rigid body physics. Along with the announcement Two Gear has released a trailer and several screenshots which can be found on the Flashbike Arena website at

Flashbike Arena is a single player arcade style racing battle where players control a futuristic motorbike, a “flashbike”, which leaves a colored wall in its wake. Points are earned by causing enemies to crash into their own or the Player’s wall. Additional points and multipliers can be earned by collecting the “energy cores” left behind as the wreckage of a crashed bike. It’s these cores that power the bikes and generate their walls.

Although the first iPhone game developed by Two Gear the team behind Flashbike Arena is no stranger to the Unreal Engine and development using the UDK. In 2009 their Unreal Tournament Mod “Coda” earned them several prizes in Intel and Epic’s Make Something Unreal Contest. This included recognition in the Best Weapon and Best New Vehicle categories in the early stages of the competition and a 4 th place finish in Phase 3 for Best Non-FPS Mod.

Founded in 2010 Two Gear LLC is an independent software developer based in Fitchburg, WI near the University of Wisconsin Madison campus. The company was formed with a goal of creating innovative, fun, and functional applications. Two Gear is currently operating as a 4 person team working towards achieving and exceeding these goals.
