UKIE invites companies to join digital chart

28th February 2011 - London, United Kingdom– UKIE excited by progress towards digital chart for PC and invites companies to contribute sales data.

UKIE, the trade association for the wider Interactive Entertainment industry, is delighted to issue a progress report on the creation of a UK download chart for PC games.

The project, first announced in late 2010, has been gathering pace with invaluable contributions from many of the leading players in digital distribution including Atari, Electronic Arts, Focus Multimedia, Kalypso Media Digital Limited, Mastertronic, NCsoft, Sega, Sony DADC, Square Enix, THQ, Ubisoft, Warner Bros and other top PC game publishers.

The closed-beta trial is progressing well and has prompted UKIE’s Chairman, Andy Payne to call for contributions from companies not currently involved in the project,

'The UKIE membership has rallied behind this project and has worked tirelessly to overcome issues as they arose. They have shown a deep understanding of the importance of the project and the value of the end product that we are working towards.’

‘Our boxed charts are second to none and we want our digital charts to attain the same level of respect and trust. Therefore, we are now inviting all companies developing, publishing and distributing PC digital games in the UK to contact UKIE to discuss how they can get involved.’
