Velocity Ultra Teleporting onto PlayStation 3 and Steam This Year

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

London, UK – 08.10.2013 – Curve Digital is proud to announce they are working on a full HD version of the critically acclaimed PlayStation Vita title, Velocity Ultra. Curve Digital’s in-house development team will bring the game to both the PC (Via Steam) and the PlayStation 3 later this year. The PC and PS3 versions will run at full HD resolutions and retain all the features of the critically acclaimed PlayStation Vita version.

A mix of a vertical shooter and puzzle game, Velocity (colon removed) Ultra mixes elements of traditional spaceship shooters with a clever teleportation mechanic. It’s all about speed, quick reflexes and fast decisions, set to a pumping electronic soundtrack.

The PC has missed out on some amazing shooters over the years, and it’s only since the rise of indie games we’ve really seen shooters coming back to the PC.” Said Managing Director of Curve Digital, Jason Perkins. “ With Velocity Ultra, we’re not only bringing a new shooter to PC gamers, we’re bringing one of the most innovative examples of the genre in years.”

One of the highest rated Vita games of all time, Velocity Ultra will now also be available on the PlayStation 3 for the first time. The PlayStation 3 version of the game will be released first, featuring joint trophies and leaderboards with the Vita version.

I’m genuinely proud of what we achieved with Velocity Ultra.” said James Marsden, Managing Director of FuturLab. “ I know the unwritten rules of press releases require me to say that, but it’s an absolutely genuine sentiment. We poured our creative heart and soul into this game, and it’s fantastic to be working with Curve to bring the game to more players.”

Oh, and for those worrying about control on the PC version, the game will be fully compatible with both mouse/keyboard and controllers, and feature a customisable control set - we got this.

* - Our version of holiday season starts today and ends at Christmas. Don’t judge us; you can buy mince pies in supermarkets already.

Praise for Velocity Ultra (PlayStation Vita):

It’s a game that leads by example, never keeping still while making sure you do likewise, and is every bit as essential now as it was 12 months ago.” – Edge

“ Velocity Ultra looks, plays, and sometimes feels like a traditional vertical scrolling shooter, but has a level of accessibility and innovation that separates it from comparable games” – Game Informer

“It looks great, it sounds great and it plays great. It is, quite simply, just a great game, and a must-have for Vita owners.” – Gaming Age
