VETERAN EMERGENT EXECUTIVE SCOTT M. JOHNSON NAMED CEO OF  EMERGENT GAME TECHNOLOGIES

Calabasas, CA– March 9, 2010– Emergent Game Technologies, a leading provider of 3D game development solutions, today announced the appointment of Scott M. Johnson to chief executive officer. Mr. Johnson has held the position since late last year and led the company to record results through the close of 2009.

Emergent reported a strong end to 2009 with a 35% increase in revenues year over year and a 58% increase in profitability for the year overall. Growth was strongest in North America, Japan and China, with Gamebryo LightSpeed gaining rapid adoption and driving the 2009 results. Emergent ended the year with over 120 deals closed, with more than 50 games coming from Asia, the vast majority of which were free-to-play and social Massively Multiplayer Games (MMO).

"2010 looks to be a successful year for Emergent, as we complete a string of strategic hires and continue to support our ever growing roster of developers and newly signed licensees,” stated Johnson.“Over the past 12 months the video game industry has seen a dramatic shift in the way it conducts business. The era of $15 million plus titles is in our rear-view mirror and changing focus to the new way business is done will be challenging for our competition.”

Johnson continued,“As developers and publishers look to new business models, Emergent is out front in two proven ways. First, our flexible and agile technology serves the growing free-to-play and social MMO, digital distribution and other expanding categories, and second, our company culture is dedicated to working closely with independent game developers to quickly put their best ideas on screen.”

Prior to joining Emergent, Scott was co-founder and CEO of Mobility Entertainment (MENT), a successful mobile entertainment developer that was purchased by Foundation 9 and delivered more than 20 mobile games to market. Before that, he spent seven years in various executive positions with Vivendi, serving as vice president of Vivendi Universal Games, as vice president and chief financial officer for Universal Interactive, managing core franchises like Crash Bandicoot, Lord of the Rings and Spyro the Dragon, and helping to launch Vivendi 's Black Label Games. Scott began his career in finance as a Certified Public Accountant Deloitte&Touche LLP.
